Relaxed Suiting: Your Autumn BFF

Suiting stumbled its way into our weekend wardrobe a few years ago and it only takes one scroll on Instagram (or 10 minutes of people watching in QueensPlaza) to quickly learn it’s not going anywhere this Autumn! We are personally thrilled to see suiting being embraced in everyday wear for three obvious reasons; 1. It is an easy way to create a statement outfit; 2. They are completely timeless; and 3. They are always, ALWAYS flattering.

As if you weren’t already sold, we are about to serve you up our closing arguments (i.e. four very stylish individuals embracing this trend).

Gents, take note! We are detecting details from the 90’s and aren’t mad about it. First things first, let’s take a moment for the boxy blazer. If you’ve been sticking to rule book and opting for a tailored cut.. we GET it, but don’t knock it ‘til you try it. Myke has added some iconic Balenciaga Triple S sneakers and some very sharp shades to tie this whole look together with a neat little bow.

Would it be painfully cliché if we state the obvious that Dom LITERALLY stopped traffic in this red ensemble?! Apologies, but it wasn’t far from the truth. As if a co-ord set doesn’t make enough of a statement, we are loving that red has been slowly creeping into the collections of Australian Designers this season. If you’ve come as far as this, you may as well complete the look with statement accessories. You know… just for good measure.

Gossip Girl fans, rejoice! We found Brisbane’s Blair Waldorf serving up a look that belongs on the steps of the MET (or in this case, found window shopping at Gucci). There is an endless air of sophistication with a crested blazer and we love how Zelivia has dressed it down with relaxed trousers and sneakers. Normally this colour-combo would give us nautical vibes, but the tan accessories bring it straight back to elevated city wear.

We strive to one day look this effortlessly cool, chic and boss all at the same time. We’re going to break it down so us mere mortals can at least give it a crack! Start with a new season white suit by Viktoria & Woods and size up to achieve this super relaxed look and add a white singlet underneath to give the look some layering. Add some investment sneakers and a briefcase-style bag for the final girl-boss touch. How did we do, Tory?!
