Meet Tess...

17 Dec 2019

Our fabulous Brand Ambassador Tess Alexander sits down to run us through how she embodies Undeniably QP, her daily life, and how she celebrates Christmas.

Undeniably QP means…
Curated to effortless perfection, for me QueensPlaza is undeniably a spirit of culture. With refined elegance literally encapsulating the worlds most renowned fashion houses in history, QueensPlaza guarantees iconic moments of luxe lifestyle and inspiration.

My favourite thing about Brisbane is…
Brisbane is a gem! Our glorious weather aside, Brisbane has the perfect mix of industry, creative talent and picture perfect landscapes.  There is a calmness, yet buzzing excitement to our city that I just adore! Brisbane has proven itself to be the best breeding ground for innovation and supportive industry leaders, I’m so proud to live here!

My skin can’t live without…
SUNSCREEN! I am loving Mecca ‘Save Face’ at the moment. I’ve tried more sunscreens than I could possibly count and what I like about ‘Save face’ is It’s doesn’t have those specify sunscreen characteristics that normally deter people from wearing SPF every day. It’s almost like a primer, creating the perfect base to apply foundation to, while being 50+ SPF!

When I get dressed in the morning I think…
My days are never the same. I’m always running from place to another – usually for completely different reasons. My outfits are always determined by what that day entails, sometimes it’s gym clothes, others it’s Dior.

The item of clothing I'm wearing most often is…
A cute high-waisted skirt with pockets. They are versatile, functional and feminine.

The most treasured item in my closet is…
Ok ladies. I have and still use everyday the original -1st generation GHD straightener. She’s 15 years old, light grey from years use… but nothing compares. The real MVP.

I can’t travel without…
Hydrolyte and face mist. Hydration Hydration Hydration!

My favourite hour of the day is…
Some days I might be on a shoot/job for 12 hours, others I might spend roped to my computer! I don’t have a routine, but I will always find time to exercise in some capacity. It might be in the gym or simply going for a walk along the river. It’s soul food and my favourite hour of the day.

The thing I’m looking forward to most in 2020 is...
Can I say my brain space? Like with any year, inevitably there will be ebbs and flows of success and setbacks, that we generally don’t have control over. What I’m most looking forward to most in 2020 is having a clear perspective and brain space conducive to handling whatever the year throws at me.

The last thing I Googled…
What date Chinese New Year falls on in 2020. (Saturday January 25th, for those of you playing at home)

I'm dying to splurge on…
Move over avocado on toast, I’m about that house deposit.

My guilty pleasure is…
Watching cooking shows! I love Buzzfeed Tasty videos, Bon Appetite, afternoon lifestyle shows… I love them all! Watching a 5 min (…ok sometimes 30mins) cooking show is absolutely my guilty pleasure AND my procrastination enabler!

I will always be excited to work in fashion because…
Fashion is art. It’s ever changing and evolving and that’s its beauty. I feel completely honoured that I am able to be a (tiny) apart of a brands history by shooting their campaigns, sharing their message or simply wearing their garments.  QueensPlaza is home to some incredibly iconic Australian and Luxury designers – and I humbled to be able to wear their art, everyday.

 My last-minute go-to Christmas gift is…
I love giving thoughtful gifts; something that the person will use and appreciate during the year. I have two ‘go-to’ last minute gifts: a plant and a candle. Plants bring life to any room (plus, I think looking after a plant could be classified as ‘self-care’) and a candle because there is nothing more nostalgic than scent! Care and memories? sounds like a pretty great gift to me!

On Christmas day I will be…
With my family on the Gold Coast. I may be in my late 20’s – but I still wake up on Christmas morning with that ‘Christmas fuzz’ feeling and I can’t think of anything more special than celebrating this time of year with the ones you love

My new year’s resolution is…
To find more balance. I am guilty of getting so caught up in work that I forget to invest in time off! It’s a tale as old as time really, and something that so many of us fall into the trap of (…even though we know the ending never works out)! So that’s my resolution; move relaxing up on the priority list, to find more balance.
